Starship Troopers 3 pics Jul. 2, 2008

How do I know the bugs don't stand a chance in STARSHIP TROOPERS 3: MARAUDER? Because this time, the Mobile Infantry has some gigantic friggin' guns! And Jolene Blalock's lips! And Johnny Rico is back to squash some bugs! Good thing -- after all, we can ill afford another Klendathu.

My boy Clint over at Moviehole (now new and improved!) caught the movie already and enjoyed it despite the budgetary limitations. The straight-to-DVD sequel hits on August 5th (in hi-def), and here are a few new snaps from the flick.

I loved the first one. And the seconded one sucked. This idea had so much potential. Paul Verhoeven should of continued.

Get Clancy Brown back and I'll give it a shot...

Anyone else think the short lived animated series was far better than the film(s)? Animation aside the story and characters were pretty top notch for a low-budget cgi 'toon.

PLEASE, NO STARSHIP TROOPERS 4...
Like RoboCop, only Paul Verhoeven's original Starship Troopers is a sci-fi classic. It was a one-off great movie.

GUILTY PLEASURE
The first one I thought was a B-movie classic. Never saw the second one because I heard it was horrible, but I still think there's plenty of material to play with to make another good movie.

Rico is looking a bit 'older' now in that pic above. Oh, the time sure does go by fast!

The second one is pretty much what you expect to get when you let the effects guy direct the movie.

LOVED THE 1ST! THE SEQUEL, POINTLESS.
I like probably 1/100 Direct to DVD releases and I'm hoping this is one of them. I loved the 1st because of the excellent special effects (for the time, although they are still better than Sci-fi channel movies) the campiness of it, & the way the whole picture was presented. If that film had performed better, we would see a lot more of those types of rendered films. The 2nd one was pointless & dumb except that you get to see the Nip/Tuck hottie Kelly Carlson nekkid! That is about it's only redeeming value but I sure hope this one will be good considering Casper Van Dien is back & it has resident "Star Trek" babe Jolene Blalock too. Maybe this will be my 1/100!

PERSONALLY I LOVED STARSHIP TROOPERS
but the second one jus seemed like they couldnt pull any great actor's or great budget so they just threw in naked chicks that are actually bugs to get it sold, hopefully this one will rock.
