The MTV Movie Awards was a couple of days ago but we’re still getting some bits of information trickling out from the day’s festivities. MTV apparently talked to 300 director Zack Snyder about his next project, the adaptation of Alan Moore’s WATCHMEN, and he had plenty to say (or not say) about the recent casting rumors. On word that Keanu Reeves, Patrick Wilson and Jude Law had joined the cast: “I don’t know who’s leaking this stuff, but they’re good.” He stopped short of confirming the news but I’ll take that as a hint that we’re definitely not being mislead with those actors. Snyder, who says he’s currently working on filming the opening scene where The Comedian is murdered, says he’s also leaving the door open for Gerard Butler. The 300 actor has a busy schedule and had previously mentioned he might not be available for WATCHMEN but Snyder says “he’s not gonna get out that easy.” Filming on WATCHMEN is expected to begin this September in Canada and expect a big panel with formal casting announcements at the Comic-Con next month.
