Just a day after Variety reported that Shia LaBeouf is in final negotiations to join INDIANA JONES IV as the titular sexagenarian adventurer’s surprisingly young son, the former Even Steven-er is downplaying the report as nothing but a rumor. “Look, those were rumors that got started on the Internet, and it’s a great idea, and it would be fun to talk about, but I don’t have the part…Hey, I can’t keep a secret. If it were true, I’d talk about it. I’ll tell everyone,” he recently mentioned while doing press for the upcoming CG mockumentary SURF’S UP. Of course, he also never flat out denied that he’s in negotations for the role – he just kept spinning this “rumor” line – so it’s unclear why him and Paramount are being coy about the casting. What do you guys think? On top of the aforementioned SURF’S UP, LaBeouf is also very much part of the upcoming TRANSFORMERS adaptation.
