The same day the Academy Awards announced they were expanding they were expanding the Best Picture category to 10 nominees, the Saturn Awards, honoring the best in sci-fi, fantasy and horror, put on an award show that had just as much excess. I love a show that honors sci-fi and can give awards to WALL-E, “Lost” and LET THE RIGHT ONE IN but do we really need a Lifetime Achievement Award, a Life Career Award and a Visionary Award? All in the same night?? And does there have to be a distinction between Best TV Show and Best Syndicated TV Show?
OK I’m just ranting. As expected, THE DARK KNIGHT took home a shitload of trophies including Best Action/Adventure/Thriller Film while IRON MAN took home Best Sci-Fi Film.
