Not just Resident Evil they need to reboot, but also the MORTAL KOMBAT series, which in my opinion is far less dreadful then the RE ones. At least MK followed somewhat of a continuity, RE just completely jacked off on the plot. RE3 was probably the worst zombie movie i've ever seen. And I don't want to know what kind of crap they'd churn out for a 4th installment, so I say just let it die out for good and come back with a new story, new director, new everything. |

As a huge Resident Evil fan, I could deal with the first, as that could have been a side story...or something worked in with the games. However, as the movies progressed, "story" became second hand...and effects, bad dialogue, acting, un-realism came to the forefront...
The only thing good about the 2nd was Sienna Miller as Jill Valentine, and the only thing about the 3rd was seeing Milla in her original outfit...Rowwwr!!!
I wouldn't mind seeing a reboot as well, closer to the games; and, I wouldn't mind seeing Milla Jovovich as the lead in a better RE film. |

seriously. and they should use Romeros script. i got 15 pages in and i found it better than the entire first movie, he actually had the original characters in it. hell the games were influenced by Romeros work, he wouldve been the best choice.

I think you are on to something. Wes Anderson should dump resident evil and possibly convince Carpenter to hand over the rights to Big Trouble in Little China. A sequal or even a remake could do rather well. Kurt Russel can play jack burton again. Milla can join the party as a love interest with green eyes. It could definately be the start of a good kung fu scifi franchise that would be much more entertaining than a post apocalyptic girl power flick which the franchise is slowly sinking into.
As for resident evil 4, lets try a new story for a change cause all that is left is just the prospect of a million cgi millas all fighting zombies if last one gave away any hint of where its going to go. |

Even though I really dug extinction coincidentally I feel that they backed themselves into a corner with the series. If they wanna do another one they should involve the characters of Leon kennedy or Chris Redfield. |
