This movie just looks stupid. I'm not a fan, but I've been known to jump the gun once and a while. I barely liked Sweeny Todd (actually I didn't like it now that I think about it) and this looks worse than that. If you have to rely on Paris Hilton then you have sunk too far as an artistic creator. |

Repo! is still getting rave reviews, (I have yet to locate a bad review of this film), and that's what counts. It's only a shame that the suits at Lionsgate have opted for such a small opening. I'd hate to think we'll have a situation here close to the whole The Descent/The Cave thing from 2005, where people begin to confuse the original film with its lame imitator.
Repossession Mambo might just get a wider opening and become better known despite being little more than a hollow copy of Repo!; Universal has opted for bigger name actors rather than people who can actually sing (Anthony Head, Sarah Brightman) like Repo!. |
