STUPID F***ING STUDIO IDIOTS
Consider this:
It costs tens of millions of dollars to re-make this movie which does NOT need to be remade.
How about spending one TENTH of that amount and pay a huge group of writers to write ORIGINAL scripts. God damn it, I hate the way hollywood thinks. |

VERY BAD IDEA!!
This movie will not work! Trust me, this will be a disaster waiting to happen. The idea of child soldiers were kinda cool back then, dunno about now.
As for the "gritty-realistic-version" thingy, will just make things worse. They are safer remaking as a spoof with Home-Alone antics than a politically charged action-thriller with teenagers yelling things like "WHERE MA' GUN AT?!!" or "DAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT (DAWG/DUDE)!!" type of dialogue.

1) They'll probably make the invading force middle eastern and tie it in with 9/11. 2) As ChinoMoreno said, a gritty, realistic version of Red Dawn would work and be incredible (this day and age, kids taking on guerrilla warfare tactics isn't that unheard of... especially if they shift it to innercity..lol...that's not funny), but they won't do that. 3) I love the original and although I don't automatically dismiss a remake simply because it exists, or will exist, or is being talked about possibly existing (there have been a few good ones, though admittedly, not many) I just don't think hollywood can make this work unless they got a director who cared more about telling the RIGHT story than on what the STUDIO wanted him to tell to theoretically pull in a certain audience who isn't going to waste their time on it anyways. |

How is this going to work today? The Soviets were considered a real threat to us back in the 80's, but after the dissolution of the USSR not so much. |

hopefully hungry wolverines come and attack those responsible for this. If a certian group of people were interested in a remake then do a different movie, don't call it red dawn but have a similar story. Calling it Red Dawn only means it can become more widly recognized. |

STUPID!RETARDED!STUDIO JERKOFFS!
I have an idea for a great remake of Prince Casbian. Come on its been long enough, I think there is a new audience for this and we can get the nostalgic people who saw it last week when they were kids. |

THIS..
...is the worse news I've gotten today.
Red Dawn is perfect how it is. Why can't people just write something similar, that they were inspired to write from watching Red Dawn? Is that so hard, this way you can have a stand alone flick as opposed to a money losing remake. Isn't that what movies are all about telling stories? If not new stories?
It seems the creative well in Hollywood is truly tapped. |
