The trailer for the action adventure PATHFINDER has been around for quite a while but, for whatever reason, we didn't get around to reporting on it. JD was cool enough to remind us of that fact, though, and of the fact that the trailer is now streaming on the film's OFFICIAL SITE. Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Laeta Kalogridis and Christopher Shy, the film tells the story of Vikings who raid and slaughter a Native American settlement, leaving, unbeknownst to them, one of their own behind. Being raised by the Native Americans, the young Viking grows up to be a great warrior (Karl Urban) and when the Vikings return, he helps protect the Native Americans who raised him. Basically, he opens up a serious can of whup ass on those Viking bastards. The film opens April 27th.
Extra Tidbit:
Despite knowing that the Vikings' helmets didn't historically sport large animal horns, the filmmakers decided to add them in anyway as they felt it would make them look more menacing.

Did anyone else notice part way through the trailer the main character says "run and you may live, fight and you will die." thats almost an exact rip-off from braveheart, that being said this movie could probably go either way. Shitty or great, have to wait and see. |

PATHFINDER = SHITTY MOVIE IDEA
When I first saw the poster, I thought it was for a goddamn game. When I first saw the trailer, I fell asleep...seriously, it was that boring. |

Well it looks like the trailer gave away the whole movie. Karl wins. Thanks, now I don't have to see it. |

Actually, this wasn't based on the graphic novel. It is in fact (yet another) REMAKE, of a Scandinavian film called Ofelas (from 1987 - itself meaning "Pathfinder"). Said graphic novel is actually based on *this* movie.
...ah, Hollywood. Nothing original anymore... |

looks good. I hope it is R-rated and not watered down to a PG-13 because that movie looks VIOLENT, but I think 300 will affect its chances at the box office. |
