New Sunshine trailer

The sci fi thriller SUNSHINE comes from 28 DAYS LATER director Danny Boyle and word on the street is that it’s one ass-spanking good time. It’s scripted by 28 DAYS writer Alex Garland and stars a host of talent including Rose Byrne, Chris Evans, Cillian Murphy and Michelle Yeoh. Fox Searchlight was cool enough to slide us a brand-spanking new trailer for the film, which you can check out below, along with a detailed synopsis that should give you some idea of why people are saying that this flick is poised to be, to use the parlance of our time, da bomb. It opens March 16th.

Fifty years from now, the sun is dying, and mankind is dying with it. Our last hope: a spaceship and a crew of eight men and women. They carry a device which will breathe new life into the star. But deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, their mission is starting to unravel. There is an accident, a fatal mistake, and a distress beacon from a spaceship that disappeared seven years earlier. Soon the crew is fighting not only for their lives, but their sanity.
