I think it's good that Ferrell hasn't completely abandoned his niche. He was fantastic in Stranger than Fiction, and I'd love to see more of that type of stuff, but his "generic" comedies are a thousand times more entertaining than most of the other crap we're given. |

I'm really quite sick of these generic Will Farrell comedies. I wish people would stop going to these type of movies so they'd stop making them. I mean Will Farrell showed much potential in Stranger Than Fiction. I'd wish he'd take that route as opposed to these brainless sports comedies. |

buddha, I did see Stranger than Fiction with Ferrell, and I liked it. I also think Carrey's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Truman Show are GREAT films. So I disagree with what you are saying. Why can't they still do the comedy, and try and branch out a little bit at the same time?
Anyway, I'll be seeing this. Ferrell's hair is already making me laugh. |

USE IT OR LOSE IT...
remember when jim carrey got kudos for eternal sunshine, and at some awards show he said "guess i dont have to talk out of my ass anymore?" referring to not doing another ace ventura flick?
the fans who shot him to the top got left behind so he could do "serious" work like 23...crap!! no dumb and dumber sequel either. thats the problem, leaving what he did best because he "has to grow" as an actor...
ferrell will do the same, the flick with the british chick about the author...anyone see it? he should stick to the comedy he's doing, rake in millions, keep the fans happy. sucks to be the one note actor, but "if it aint broke...dont fix it".
i'll be seeing this basketball flick, cuz i like to laugh. ferrell = funny. carrey and or ferrell serious? pass. ferrell and carrey funny...must see.
ferrell and carrey together? anyone ?? the mind boggles... |

Will Ferrell hasn't let me down yet, accept for Elf maybe, so I'll watch this movie. I guess if it's not broken don't fix it. Will Ferrell has a good formula. |

While there are moments where Ferrell makes me laugh (and I actually rather liked him in STRANGER THAN FICTION) other than the fantastic (and therefore defunct) "Arrested Development" I am f*cking SICK of Will Arnett. |

So far, for me, Ferrell's straight comedy is 2-2 for me (Elf and Anchorman were great, Talladega and Blades not so much), but with Will Arnett and Andre 3000 attached, this might be pretty damn funny. My only concern is the release date, as last February bought us such cinematic masterpieces as Hannibal Rising and Norbit. |
