After working together successfully (??) on THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson will reteam, sorta, for NEW YORK, I LOVE YOU. While they won’t be starring in a film together, both will make their directorial debut in the short film anthology similar to PARIS JE T’AIME. Other directors involved in the project include (fanboys begin foaming at the mouth…) Brett Ratner (…now!), Mira Nair and Alan Hughes. Despite rumors to the contrary, Woody Allen is not involved with the film. Actors set to jump about NEW YORK include Orlando Bloom, Ethan Hawke, Olivia Thirlby, Hayden Christensen, Kevin Bacon, Rachel Bilson, James Caan, Chris Cooper, Maggie Q and Robin Wright-Penn. (I had heard rumors that Michael Cera was also cast but that has yet to be confirmed.) The production is already underway in New York City where it plans to run for about 10 weeks. No US distributor is on-board just yet but this has Miramax or The Weinstein Co. written all over it.
Nat and Scarlett back!
