Ivana Baquero and Gabrielle Wilde join the Chloe Moretz-starring remake of Carrie

It looks like the remake of CARRIE starring Chloe Grace-Moretz has found two of it’s villains and one ally.

Ivana Baquero, the little girl who starred in PAN’S LABYRINTH, is all grown up and will play Chris, the mean girl who makes Carrie’s life a living hell. Chris was played by Nancy Allen in the 1976 Brian De Palma version.

Also in talks are Gabrielle Wilde for the role of Sue Snell, played by Amy Irving in the original. Wilde was recently seen in the awful 3D version of THE THREE MUSKETEERS. My nerd crush, Judy Greer, is also close to signing on for the role of the gym teacher. That character was on site for the infamous tampon scene at the beginning of the original movie.

The cast for the Kimberly Peirce (BOYS DON’T CRY) remake already includes Moretz, Julianne Moore, Alex Russell and Ansel Elgort.

If you don’t know, the plot of CARRIE is as follows: It is the story of a socially outcast teenage girl named Carrie White who discovers she possesses latent psionic power which seems to flare up when she becomes angry or otherwise distressed. Carrie’s powers become apparent after her humiliation by her peers, teachers, and abusive mother, eventually resulting in tragedy.

Check out some photos of the new cast (in order: Ivana Baquero, Gabrielle Wilde, and Judy Greer) as well as a pretty cool fan poster for the movie.

The new CARRIE opens March 15, 2013.
