The guys behind Skyline will next be bringing us battling historical figures with War of the Ages

While the Strause Brothers’ sci-fi invasion film SKYLINE was a movie best enjoyed while not sober, their new directorial effort WAR OF THE AGES ironically sounds like something you’d come up with while high as f*ck.

In a recent interview with MovieWeb while promoting the home video release of SKYLINE, Colin and Greg Strause divulged a little bit of information on what will be their big 3D epic:

“War of the Ages is going to be the next news item. Basically, an ancient artifact is uncovered, time is shattered and the seven greatest war leaders in history have to battle each other out. It’s sort of like The Lord of the Rings meets Gladiator. You have Napoleon vs. Julius Caesar vs. Attila the Hun vs. Genghis Khan vs. Alexander vs. Hannibal. So, there you go. It’s going to be in 3D and it’s a big sword-and-sandal epic.”

The brothers then revealed that they’ll be using the same pitching tactic to sell WAR OF THE AGES as they did with SKYLINE:

“We just finished up the script and we have just finished the trailer we shot for it. It’s sort of the same way we did Skyline, except this is a much, much bigger film. In Skyline, we shot a 90-second trailer to get everybody excited about the movie before we sold it. We’re kind of following in the same footsteps, but learning from the experience and pushing forward.”

Back in October, The Strause Brothers spoke exclusively to our boys over at AITH about how they already had a treatment all lined up for SKYLINE 2. The first film supposedly only cost $10 million, and despite being completely terrible, it still managed to make just under $70 million worldwide at the box office. Whether that means SKYLINE 2 will be next and then WAR OF THE AGES remains to be seen.
