Sylvester Stallone has begun training for Rambo V

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Now that THE EXPENDABLES has gone three deep, what will be next for Sylvester Stallone? Could he take a major part in the rumored spin-off CREED with Michael B. Jordan? Maybe another film entirely? How about RAMBO V?

During a party to promote THE EXPENDABLES III, Stallone was asked by Vulture where progress stands on the long in development RAMBO V.

I’m getting ready for that,” he said. “I’m starting to work out. I’m going to be appropriately vicious and all that stuff, but intellectual. A killer with a heart.” Stallone began riffing on more potential Rambo dichotomies: “Smart, yet stupid. Tall, yet short. Broad, but thin. You know what I mean. We’re going to try to cover all the boundaries.”

Stallone has hinted at several potential plots or directions for the fifth RAMBO movie, but just a month ago, a German press release said RAMBO V would feature Stallone’s character facing off against a Mexican drug cartel. Comparisons were made to NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN which could make for a very interesting adventure for the Vietnam vet.

The question will remain whether RAMBO V will maintain the same level of violence as the 2008 film or if it will be a watered down PG-13 like what THE EXPENDABLES III received. Does anyone want to see a bloodless RAMBO?
