Star Wars Rumor Mill: might Matthew Vaughn be directing Episode VII after all?

Hopefully Disney will get this shit figured out soon so that we can stop debating rumors and start responding to facts, but in the meantime: Matthew Vaughn favorite Jason Flemyng (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, HANNA, THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON) was recently interviewed and asked about his possible involvement with X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.  And he said that he and Bryan Singer got on well while making FIRST CLASS and he hoped he’d get the call soon to come back for his part of Azazel, which is all well and good.  But then, when asked about his relationship with Matthew Vaughn and whether he’d have a small part in Vaughn’s EPISODE VII… well… watch for yourself.

Is he just going along with the possibility that Vaughn is, in fact, taking on STAR WARS: EPISODE VII and not Mark Millar’s THE SECRET SERVICE as previously reported? Is he actually confirming Vaugn’s involvement? And most importantly, what is the airspeed veolicty of an unladen swallow?

Flemyng is a great actor who commits 100% to everything he does, so if and when Vaughn IS involved with EPISODE VII I sincerely hope that he does give Flemyng a call.  Or that whomever directs gives Flemyng a call.  Guy’s far too talented to not have a go in one of cinema’s most enduring and engaging universes.
