When Doctor Who's Matt Smith was added to the cast for Alan Taylor's TERMINATOR: GENISYS last year, there weren't any details released about the actor's role except it will grow in the second and third films, and Smith will star as "a new character with a strong connection to John Connor."
Thanks to a recent test screening, Latino-Review may have learned who Matt Smith will be playing in the TERMINATOR reboot. An audience member who claims to have been at the screening has revealed Smith's role in the upcoming movie, and it's not Tim (John Connor's friend from TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY) like some have speculated.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
According to the site's source, Matt Smith's character is "the embodiment of Skynet."
"Similar to Helena Bonham Carter’s role in McG’s Terminator: Salvation, Smith will be the antagonist system given form, different from the nebulous corporate villainy of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and vague apocalypse technophobia of the first.”
How do you think that is going to work, and what are your thoughts on Smith essentially playing Skynet?
TERMINATOR: GENISYS will be in theaters on July 1, 2015.
