It’s only a matter of time before British design wunderkind Olly Moss is commissioned by a studio to create the actual theatrical one-sheet for a big movie. It’s way too early to compare Moss to a guy like Saul Bass but if he keeps on this track, he’s got a very bright future ahead of him. While we probably won’t see Moss’ new SCREAM 4 design hanging in theaters anytime soon, the new poster debuted in Empire Magazine this month and the artist revealed on Twitter last night.
As with many of Moss’ designs, it’s a fairly simplistic yet clever twist on the material. Here just a kitchen knife highlighted around a number “4” in simple black watercolor. The painting may have taken an afternoon (at best) but perhaps that’s why it works so well.
