New promotional art for Jurassic World 2 suggests the return of Indominus

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Raptor whisperer Chris Pratt has already teased us with the notion that JURASSIC WORLD 2 will be "scarier and darker" than its predecessor, and now, thanks to License! Global magazine, we've got a new teaser poster image that hints at yet another foreboding feature – the possible return of Indominus Rex.

Check out the image below and let us know what you think:

While it's not 100% clear that the creature shown in the promotional art is indeed the deadly prehistoric hybrid, I feel as if I'd know that reptilian eye anywhere, especially when it's getting all up close and personal. For those of us who've seen 2015's JURASSIC WORLD, we know that by the finale of the film, the Indominus became the main course for one very hangry mosasaurus, but has that ever stopped this franchise from pulling a few rabbits out of its proverbial hat? Perhaps the Indominus escaped? Maybe it used its tiny arms to dino-paddle its way to safety? Or, could there have been more than one? After all, those persky JURASSIC WORLD scientists are always up to no good, and I wouldn't put it past them to have engineered more than one of these beasts.

Or, you know, if could be a completely different breed featured on the poster all together. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Directed by J.A. Bayona from a script by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, JURASSIC WORLD 2 will feature the return of stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who will no doubt be running from dinosaurs alongside franchise newcomers Ted Levine, Justice Smith and Geraldine Chaplin. JURASSIC WORLD 2 is poised to stomp into theaters on June 22, 2018.
