Marvel won’t let Tom Holland read Infinity War script due to his big mouth

Spider-Man Tom Holland Avengers

Ever since Tom Holland became a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his track record of keeping secrets has been terrible. Just last month Holland let it slip that SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is only the first in a planned trilogy of SPIDER-MAN films, following that little revelation up by saying, "well, now you know. Sorry, Marvel, whoops!" The MCU certainly has plenty of developments which it would rather keep secret, especially as they're in the midst of shooting AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, and the studio has quickly learned that Tom Holland can't be trusted.

While speaking with the Toronto Sun, Holland revealed that despite taking part in the epic AVENGERS film, he doesn't have a clue as to what's going on as Marvel won't let him read the entire script.

I don’t know anything about it or what it’s about. I know who the villain is, but that’s it. They don’t let me read anything because I’m so bad at keeping secrets.

Of course it's not unusual for actors only to be given the pages which concern them directly, especially on a film like AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, but I'm sure Tom Holland's tendency to overshare may have had something to do with Marvel's decision. Even if the actor isn't entirely certain how the film will turn out, he's still incredibly excited to take part. "It’s going to be the biggest movie of all time," Holland teased. "Believe me; no one is ready for this movie."

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is just about a week away from release, and the reviews so far have been incredibly positive. Our own Eric Walkuski went out of his way to praise Tom Holland's portroyal of Peter Parker in his review of SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. "He is more than capable of selling Peter's wide-eyed sense of adventure while also imbuing him with plenty of the traits that make him recognizable as a naive – sometimes foolish – teenager," Walkuski said. "But most importantly, you're never in doubt that Peter is unquestionably a good person who means well; the essence of Spider-Man." I can't wait!
