MAJOR spoiler for The Walking Dead revealed in blu ray announcement

Yesterday, the AMC website featured an ad for season 2 of THE WALKING DEAD, complete with a MAJOR spoiler in the description. Fans of the comic will have no trouble figuring it out and show-only viewers will no doubt have heard the rumblings by now.

However, if you wish to remain spoiler free, then DO NOT proceed beyond the zombie.

Yes, you read that right. 

…bonus features such as: the making of the barn, an extended zombie gut scene, Shane’s last episode…

The post has since been removed and an AMC spokesperson has released this statement: “The post on the AMC store was completely unauthorized. The matter is currently under investigation.”

I’m sure some speculation may come that perhaps Shane just leaves the group to venture out on his own.  I suppose that’s possible, but I seriously doubt it.  Fans of the comic have been waiting for his demise since season one.  Creator Robert Kirkman has given the character of Shane one hell of a lease on life with the TV show and has certainly veered from the comic in many ways, especially when it comes to characters, so you just never truly know anyone’s fate.

There’s only a few episodes left, so we’ll know the outcome very shortly.
