Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms have looked at the enourmous box office receipts for THE HANGOVER 2, realized that this won’t last forever, and have asked for 15 million each for the third film, aginst backend.
It would be a nice raise for the stars, who earned less than a million on the first film and five for the second (plus back-end, which bounced their earnings up into the teens).
Warner Bros, now about to lose its two biggest franchises in HARRY POTTER and THE DARK KNIGHT, is in negotiations right now, and it looks like they’re going to pay. The first film grossed $467 million worldwide and the second made $581, so it certainly would be easy money for them.
If the deal goes through the film will shoot in LA this summer and be ready for a release Memorial Day 2013. HANGOVER 3 (or whatever it’s eventually called) won’t repeat the events all over again like the second one did, either, as it apparently will give up the forgotten events forumula.
