Godzilla and Jersey Boys land a pair of promising release dates

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I almost wish we could have a combination movie called GODZILLA BOYS.  Almost.  *cue “Jersey Godzilla/Jersy Shore” jokes*

Then again, title combo isn’t really all that relevant as the release dates for these two flicks are about six months apart, one being a tentpole summer event movie and the other being a holiday family event.

First Warner Bros. we have JERSEY BOYS, the Jon Favreau-directed adaptation of the hit broadway show chronicling “the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and their meteoric rise from blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks to one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time.”  If that’s your thing, you can start planning now for a release date of Christmas 2013.

Also from Warner Bros. (and Legendary Entertainment) we have GODZILLA, directed by Gareth Edwards (MONSTERS) with a script from David S. Goyer, David Callaham (THE EXPENDABLES), and Max Borenstein (Legendary’s upcoming release THE SEVENTH SON).  The “gritty, realistic” GODZILLA is now expected to rampage its way into a cinema near you come May 16th, 2014.

What’s the biggest mistake you think Warner Bros. and Legendary could make with GODZILLA?
