Let’s just be up-front about this: the world needs another great hockey movie. And no, I’m not talking about a reboot of THE MIGHTY DUCKS. I’m talking about a movie for people who love hockey. Who love a good fight, a wicked slapshot and a cold Canadian beer. Lucky for us, we have GOON.
Written by our Montreal brethren Jay Baruchel (who co-stars) and Evan Goldberg (SUPERBAD, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS), GOON is a throwback to the classic hockey movies like SLAPSHOT and is a film made by hockey fans for hockey fans. As they say in the trailer, this is not f*cking baseball.
Our own Chris Bumbray caught the film at the Toronto Film Festival and said it left him “doubled over in laughter throughout.”
GOON stars Seann William Scott, Nicholas Campbell, Liev Schrieber, Alison Pill, Kim Coates, Eugene Levy and Marc-Andre Grondin and hits theaters in February. As a bunch of puck-loving fiends, we’re excited to debut the world premiere of the official GOON trailer!
