Dylan McDermott is a (serial) killer dad in The Clovehitch Killer trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Dylan McDermott’s character in THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER is a loving father, a dutiful husband, a Scoutmaster and, perhaps, a cold-blooded serial killer. The first trailer for the mystery thriller finds Tyler (Charlie Plummer) investigating his own father, Don (McDermott) after he finds a reason to believe he may be a serial killer that’s been on the loose in his town. This is why they tell you to never go rooting around in your parent's things.

Directed by Duncan Skiles and written by Christopher Ford (COP CAR, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING), CLOVEHITCH looks like a chilling change of pace from the typical serial killer fare, focusing more on the human element behind a killer than on the bloody kills. McDermott looks pretty terrifying in the role, hiding a deadly killer behind that puffy mustache of his.  The movie premiered at the LA Film Festival back in September and received some positive response, currently standing at 80% on Rotten Tomatoes (albeit with only five reviews).

Also joining that cast are Samantha Mathis and Madison Beaty, and IFC Midnight will release the movie in theaters and on VOD November 16.
