Aquaman gets a fresh logo as James Wan announces trailer debut for SDCC

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

We've been learning quite a lot about AQUAMAN over the past week, including our first looks at characters like Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), Queen Atlanna (Nicole Kidman), Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe), and more, as well as concept art and details about the world of Atlantis. All of this new information has led some to believe that the first trailer for the film would be along shortly, and while a trailer is coming, it's still a little over a month away. AQUAMAN director James Wan took to Twitter to reveal a new logo/glyph for the film as well as to announce that the AQUAMAN trailer will debut at San Diego Comic-Con, which is set to run through July 19-22.

With both Marvel and HBO sitting out Comic-Con this year, Warner Bros. has every opportunity to absolutely own Hall H with their presentations, and letting the convention serve as the trailer debut for AQUAMAN certainly aids to the prestige. Although I'm a little disappointed that we have more of a wait ahead of us than we thought, I'm still quite pumped for the film. I know Warner Bros. doesn't have the greatest track-record with their DC movies lately, especially after JUSTICE LEAGUE, but I've got my fingers crossed that James Wan will deliver something fun. The director also teased that he's hoping AQUAMAN will be unlike anything we've seen before. "The water world my movie takes place in is so separate and so far apart from previous DC movies it’s like I’m making my own sci-fi fantasy film," Wan said. "This is a whole new underwater world nobody has seen before in live action."

AQUAMAN will hit theaters on December 21, 2018.
