Amy Adams joins the cast of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Scientology drama

Paul Thomas Anderson has another member to add to the cast of his still untitled scientology movie (formerly THE MASTER).

Amy Adams has signed on to play the wife of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s character. Hoffman plays, “a man who returns from witnessing the horrors of WWII, and in an attempt to find himself, he forms a belief system that catches on in the 1950s.” A couple of months ago, there were rumors that Adams would join the film. Good thing she decided to hop on board.

Despite some confusion, Joaquin Phoenix will be playing Hoffman’s assistant. It was thought that Phoenix was off the project and Jeremy Renner would be taking his place. While Renner would have been great, it’s nice to have Phoenix back.

Another thing to be thankful for is Megan Eliison backing the project financially under her Annapurna Productions banner.

Can’t wait to see this one.
