Leguizamo w/ M. Night

John Leguizamo has signed on to co-star with Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan thriller THE HAPPENING. Not a feature adaptation of “What’s Happening Now?,” the Shyamalan film will feature Leguizamo as Wahlberg’s best friend who joins him on the run after a series of natural disasters. That’s the boring logline though. Really this film is the ultimate INCONVENIENT TRUTH and features a super pissed off Mother Nature who decides to fight back against humanity and gets people killing themselves and others. Also starring in the film are Zooey Deschanel and Spencer Breslin (Abigail’s older brother and star of CAT IN THE HAT). I’m excited to see what Shyamalan’s cooking up this time around as I’m a big fan of his work. I even liked LADY IN THE WATER so I guess that makes me a fan or certifiably insane (both?). Filming on HAPPENING will begin later this month in Philadelphia and Fox has already set a June 13, 2008 release.
