Joker without makeup Jul. 23, 2008
Source: YouTube
by: Ben Barna

Ever since seeing THE DARK KNIGHT, I've been slightly infatuated with Heath Ledger and his performance in the film. Today I caught myself on his IMDb page, staring at photos of him without makeup on, trying to imagine him as the terror I saw on screen. Couldn't really do it. Well the following helps a little, and I'm thinking it's real. I searched for clips as Ledger as the Joker on YouTube, and this is the first thing that popped up. It's a picture of him with his scars, but without the makeup. And you can almost, almost connect the two. So is this real or what?

Extra Tidbit: Some are saying TDK will pass TITANIC as the highest grossing movie of all time. Will it?

Th dark knight will be a cult movie from now on, but i think it will be in the 300 million barrier; it's a blockbuster, but not "that" kind of blockbuster..It's in the right path anyway.

I would absolutely love for THE DARK KNIGHT to surpass TITANIC'S record. Do I think it's possible that will actually happen? Absolutely. It made $200 million in 5 days and it doesn't appear to be losing any steam. When I went to see it again this past Tuesday (third viewing, and certainly not the last) I figured there would be a usual weekday crowd and that is to say not many. I was pleasantly surprised, however, to find myself sitting in a crowded theater. It wasn't a sold out showing but I'd say at least half of the seats were filled, if not more than (and it's a pretty big theater). Also, as I've seen some others remark, most of the people in my showing (and actually the previous two showings) were female. This one girl sitting behind me in the most recent screening kept saying: "He's so good" every time Heath Ledger appeared on screen. That made me smile.

In short, I absolutely believe THE DARK KNIGHT can beat TITANIC's record. I read an article in todays USA TODAY which said that online pre-ticket orders have stayed high and a survey at Fandango indicated that 64% of people planned on repeat viewings. Also, and this should come as no surprise, they're predicting it'll be the fastest to reach the $300 million mark. And hey, that's only halfway to the TITANIC record.

I think THE DARK KNIGHT will become the highest grossing movie of all time, but I'm not expecting it right away. And even if it doesn't, it doesn't matter how much money TITANIC made because everyone will know that THE DARK KNIGHT is a much better movie than TITANIC.

The problem with Titanic grossing as much as it did was because there was nothing in the two months following it's release to give it any sort of competition. Wasn't Man In The Iron Mask the first film to knock it out of the top spot? Like three months later? Regardless, with a new BIG movie coming out every week this week, Dark Knight couldn't pull it off as much as I would love to see it do. No film this summer has even been number one for two weeks, except Iron Man at the beginning? Now if nothing was being released in august, Dark Knight could do a billion dosmetically! Heh.

COOL PIC
that's awesome. You know, I highly doubt that The Dark Knight will pass Titanic, but it's becoming closer then I thought. It broke the record for midnight oepning, 3 day opening, biggest non holiday monday, and fastest to 200 million. In 5 days. That means that it has made 1/3 of it's gross to beat (600 mill) in only five days. Judging by the insane popularity of this movie, and the fact that WB will likely try to get as much money out of this as possible, and the lack of competition in august besides thunder.. I see this staying in theaters til early september.

I also couldn't believe the amount of females in the audience I saw it with twice. Not to mention I was in best buy and these 2 girls were playing joker ringtones on their phones and smiling about it, talking to each other about how they're "obsessed" with the movie. These looked like girls who love zac effron or magical fairies, mind you.. so... who knows?

NEVER!
No movie will veer brake titanics record. As much as I hate this movie and love Batman it will never happen. The female audience went to Titanic 3 to 4 times, now guys will do that for Batman but will women? I think once will be enough for most. Besides the way movies are setup now a days is to get as much money in the first few weeks then leave the theater and get to DVD as quick as possible. Titanic was in the theater for like months!

NO MAKEUP
This is pretty cool, even though we actually get to see him with out the make up for like one second in the film, this still of heath is pretty awsome!

I would LOVE to see TDK beat Titanic. But does anyone actually think it's going to happen? That movie made $600 million domestically. The next closet movie made 140 million LESS.

I really don't see it having that kind of staying power. It would be nice, but it's not going to happen.

dark knight had a bigger effect on me emotionally as a female rather than titanic, and I'm pretty sure it made some males emotional as well. i will be making my boyfriend watch it over and over, and everyone else i make watch it.

so if it's up to me it will be bigger than titanic.

MONEY MAKING BETS
1st in regards to a picture of him with no make-up, can't someone find a still from him dressed as the cop in the movie with no make up?

2nd - BEFORE he died I made 3 bets.

#1 - it would make the most money ever on its opening weekend - I won that bet!

#2 - it will make the most money for any comic book movie

#3 - it will beat the titanic, because of REPEAT viewers

I feel pretty confident about my bets. Grand total of winnings will only be $30, because they were $10 bets, but never the less
