When Chris Carter is involved in a project, he really dedicates himself to it. From “The X-Files” to the underrated “Millennium”, he has a tendency to take the odd journey as opposed to the simple one. So it is no surprise that with X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE, he takes a different journey than most will expect. I personally enjoyed the experience. It reminded me of why I originally enjoyed the further adventures of Scully and Mulder.
When I got to talk face to face with the man, I was happy to find that he really is very pleasant. He had his dog sitting next to him when I walked in and for some reason, I thought that to be kind of cool. Although his dog does not appear on camera, Chris does and he discusses the latest film as well as we can… after all, this was on a Saturday, less than a week before release. But I did get to bring up my all-time favorite episode with him. “Home” is one of the most satisfying hours I’ve ever spent watching television. And now, this coming Friday, you can find out if you want to believe with the latest X-File.

A FLACCID PIECE OF CRAP!
Just got back from an early showing of "I WANT TO BELIEVE". This movie is a HUGE insult to X-File fans.
What the hell was Chris Carter thinking when he wrote this sad excuse for a movie? Why did the studio finance this film? Why did Duchovny and Anderson participate in this crapfest? So many questions which have one answer: An irresponsible quest to fleece X-File fans of their hard earned money without really providing any substance or hard work.
THIS MOVIE IS PURE SHIT!!!!!
Dear Mr. Carter,
Please stop writing such crap! |

I WANT TO BELIEVE, BUT...
Given this film's lacerating reviews, non-existent marketing and a little something called 'The Dark Knight', the future's not looking too good for ol' Mulder and Scully.
Shame, too, 'cause those early (pre-LA) years of 'The X-Files' were truly wonderful. (It's too bad that Fox didn't give 'Firefly' the same chance that they gave 'The X-Files' years earlier, 'cause those 'Firefly' DVDs are, after 5 years, still best-sellers. It's hard to believe that those dumb-@$$ suits get paid so much so being so clueless.)
However, am I the only one who's tired of Science-Fiction writers, directors, et al., constantly spouting variations of 'It's not really Science-Fiction...'
'Cause, yes, it is.
And it's sometimes hard to be a fan of a genre that even its creators seem embarrassed by. Sheesh. |
