Inglorious split in 2? Jun. 20, 2008
Source: AICN
by: Ben Barna

The long wait for Quentin Tarantino’s much talked about (mainly by him) film INGLORIOUS BASTARDS may very well be worth the wait. AICN has nabbed a pretty major detail from an interview Tarantino did with Enzo Castellari, the director of the original film, in which Quentin’s is loosely based. The film will apparently be split in two parts, like that other movie he did with that hot chick in yellow.

Here’s what AICN describes as the film’s basic plot: “A bunch of hardened criminals on a military transport during World War II - that got ambushed by the Nazis. Everyone but the criminals gets killed and the prisoners decide to make their way to neutral Switzerland - and must fight the Nazis and the Allies to get there. It's a true No Man's Land scenario.”

The reason for the film split is because during his research on WWII, Tarantino gathered such a wealth of info that he couldn’t stop writing. He made the announcement at Canned that he plans to be there in ’09 with BASTARDS, but if this thing is a two-parter, how the hell is he going to finish it in time?

Extra Tidbit: IMDb has Tim Roth and Michael Madsen listed as cast members.

Puff City, would you have known this was a remake if the article hadn't mentioned it? I highly fuckin doubt it. I don't care if hollywood wants to remake something, as long as it turns out better than the original or at least as good. I've never heard of the original which is why I think a remake is a great idea. Besides that, Tarantino isn't part of Hollywood. He is for the most part an independent film maker at heart. His films have ALWAYS been a cut above all the other shit to come out. You're just hating him to be "different". Well you're not, you're just like ever other dousch bag.

THIS COULD BE A RARE EXCEPTION...
This could be a good remake...

I wish he could have used Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, and someone else, the way he originally planned to...that would have been amazing.

PuffCity, are you serious? You're entitled to your opinions and I respect them, but you think Jackie Brown and Reservoir Dogs are crap?

SOUNDS COOL
I dig the plot outline, so I'll check it out.

That's assuming that the fuckin' thing ever gets made.

20 bucks says that we don't see it by the end of the decade.

DARING
What about that German (?) DVD cover attached as picture for the article. Isn't it a bit of a chance having written all over the cover that it's "the original behind QT's major movie soon to come" when nothing has even been filmed yet. For all we/they know, this movie might never be finished. but let's hope. i'm looking forward to some action somwhat like what was in the latest rambo flick. that was awesome. imagine that for two films set against WWII and directed by QT instead of Stallone. Legen.... wait for it... dary!

I dont care that I'll get called out for being a QT dick licker. The guy can do no wrong (or hasnt yet, in my opinion) so I'll be there opening day....for both parts.

its funny that even though anything being remade is getting strike backs like 'fucking die hollywood', but when its QT doing a remake, there is no mention or complaint

hes so overrated and, in my opinion, pulp fiction was the only good thing he did
