Popluar web series MARBLE HORNETS, whose YouTube channel has more than 250,000 subscribers with over 55 million views of its 65 episodes, has just been tapped to become a feature length horror film from production company Mosaic, Variety has reported.
Joining Mosaic on the production is Kirill Baru and John Zaozirny with James Moran, the second unit director on the past three PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films, set to direct from a script by Ian Shorr. The film is being financed by Mosaic topper Jimmy Miller and his partners Mark Attanasio, Ken Sacks and Michael Sacks. Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane’s Good Universe will be handling international sales.
So for the uninitiated, the series synopsis of MARBLE HORNETS reads:
When a film student decides to look through the tapes of a canceled project his friend Alex had directed, and he had participated in, he discovers that his friends have been stalked by a paranormal entity known as the Operator and decides to get himself involved.
Production on the film is set to begin in the spring. We’ll keep you up to date on the news on this fun sounding project as it rolls in.
