Tony Goldwyn, who can be seen on the hit ABC show “Scandal” now but will always be “that douche from GHOST” to most of us, has joined the cast of DIVERGENT, Summit Entertainment’s feature film adaptation of Veronica Roth’s New York Times best selling sci-fi action tale.

Goldwyn joins a cast that includes Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Theo James, Ray Stevenson, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Jai Courtney, Miles Teller, Zoë Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Ben Lamb, Christian Madsen, and Amy Newbold.

DIVERGENT is a thrilling adventure set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities, Tris Prior (Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it’s too late.

Goldwyn will portray Andrew, Tris’ father.

DIVERGENT is being directed by Neil Burger from a script by Vanessa Taylor; Summit will release the film theatrically in North America on March 21, 2014. Shooting is now underway in Chicago.
