The Mortal Instruments drums up CCH Pounder & Aidan Turner

Here’s my opportunity to voice what I’ve long felt true: CCH Pounder is the hardest name in showbiz!

And five days after Kevin Zegers hopped aboard, CCH Pounder (right) and Aidan Turner have joined Harold Zwart’s adaptation of sci-fi fantasy THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. Word from Variety is Aidan Turner (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) will play Luke Garroway, the surrogate father to the protagonist Clary Fray (Lily Collins), while CCH Pounder (Avatar) will portray Madame Dorthea, a witch who is Clary’s downstairs neighbor in New York City.

Also starring Jemima West, Jamie Campbell Bower, Lena Headey (below), Jared Harris, Kevin Durand, Robert Maillet, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Zegers and Godfrey Gao – TMI is:

Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother, Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.
