About a year and a half ago, I wrote some casting news articles about a film that was being called THE DEEP END at the time. Directed by Matt Eskandari from a screenplay he wrote with Michael Hultquist, this film was set to star Alexandra Park, Nora-Jane Noone, and Tobin Bell in the story of
two sisters who become trapped under the fiberglass cover of a public pool.
Diane Farr joined the cast later, THE DEEP END made it through production, and now MarVista Entertainment is set to give the film a Digital HD and On Demand release later this month – but not under the title THE DEEP END. The movie has been given a new title for its release and is now called 12 FEET DEEP: TRAPPED SISTERS.
Yeah… That's one bonehead name, but I'm still interested in watching this movie regardless of what it's called.
MarVista has also provided an expanded synopsis for the film, but this really seems like something you should avoid reading before you see the movie. The thing contains what I would assume is a pretty big SPOILER. So proceed with caution. Don't read this if you want to be surprised by 12 FEET DEEP: TRAPPED SISTERS.
Inspired by true events, sister Bree (Nora-Jane Noone) and Jonna (Alexandra Park) get trapped beneath the fiberglass cover of an Olympic sized public pool after it closes for a holiday weekend. They soon find themselves at the mercy of the night janitor Clara (Diane Farr), who sees the trapped sisters as an opportunity to solve a few problems of her own.
The movie hits VOD on June 20th. If you'd like to pre-order it, head over to Amazon.
