Exclusive: Jane Levy talks Evil Dead 2 possibility

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Here’s a brief update on the progress, or lack thereof, of EVIL DEAD 2, a project which has been “on” and “off” so many times it’s hard to keep track of where it stands at any given time.

I just got off the phone with Jane Levy, who of course played Mia in the Fede Alvarez-directed remake, and was able to sneak in a quick question regarding the status of EVIL DEAD 2. Her thoughts here:

I don’t think they’re gonna make it. I mean, they’re always coming up with a new thing- now I hear they’re making a TV show. I was like, what? [Laughs] I think they just like exciting their fans and confusing them. I honestly don’t know, but it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be an EVIL DEAD 2 anytime soon. At least, not with me in it.

Naturally, the possibility exists that EVIL DEAD 2 is still in the works, just without Mia as a central character. That said, the recent news of an EVIL DEAD TV show starring Bruce Campbell did seem to indicate Sam Raimi and company were focusing their attentions elsewhere. We’ll just have to wait and see.
