AMC confirms that “The Walking Dead” will get a fourth season; plus new featurette!

This was something of a no-brainer anyway, but it’s obviously still newsworthy for all you “Walking Dead” fanatics. In a blog post about giving blood to the American Red Cross on AMC’s official website, it has basically been confirmed that the dead will walk again for a fourth season – and the third season hasn’t even aired yet!

Here’s the text from the blog:

Just because the walkers are mindless flesh-eaters doesn’t mean you have to be so inconsiderate. AMC and The Walking Dead are joining forces with the American Red Cross for a nationwide blood drive that, aside from being a great way to show your humanity, also might win you a 3-day, 2-night trip to the Season 4 production of The Walking Dead in 2013.

Well that certainly sounds like a trip worth taking!

Again, this was almost never in doubt. Ever since it debuted two years ago, “The Walking Dead” has been nothing short of a ratings monster for AMC; the Season Two finale brought in 9 million viewers, as the audience grew more than 50 percent in total viewers compared to Season 1’s finale. That’s a lot.

In addition to that coolness, you can see a new featurette from Season Three of “The Walking Dead”, which premieres on October 14th, below; it focuses on new character Michonne.
