It's rating roundup time here at AITH and we have three new flicks ALL recently slapped with the old R-rating courtesy of the MPAA. They are Ridley Scott's ALIEN: COVENANT, Trey Edward Shults' IT COMES AT NIGHT and Guillermo del Toro's THE SHAPE OF WATER.
Nice. I like to see horror flicks snagging R-ratings! I'm not against PG-13 horror, but being that I am an adult now and can get into R-rated movies no problem (unless that one b*tch is working the door), I could care less if a movie throws in a gratuitous f-bomb, titty, or full-on booty. This is horror after all. I love THE RING but imagine how much better it'd be if Naomi had shown off her Watts (just go with it).
Here are the rating specific rundowns for each flick:
ALIEN: COVENANT is rated-R for:
"Sci-fi violence, bloody images, language and some sexuality/nudity"
IT COMES AT NIGHT is rated-R for:
"Violence, disturbing images, and language"
And THE SHAPE OF WATER is rated-R for:
"Sexual content, graphic nudity, violence, and language"
Again, nice. Especially del Toro's THE SHAPE OF WATER. Didn't expect that. Guess we'll be seeing Doug Jones do a little skinny-dipping this time around, huh?
ALIEN: COVENANT hits theaters nationwide May 19th. IT COMES AT NIGHT comes on June 9th. And del Toro's THE SHAPE OF WATER recently snagged an Oscar-friendly release on December 8th.
Which flick are YOU most excited abut seeing? List them, in order, in the comments!
ALIEN: COVENANT's Callie Hernandez. And I know what you're thinking. Ditto.
