It was far-fetched to think that any studio would greenlight a feature based on a low-rated, cult sci fi series on a small TV network yet Joss Whedon was able to take his much-loved “Firefly” and create the solid sci fi adventure SERENITY. So, though SERENITY’s box office receipt wasn’t the most impressive, and most people have ruled out the possibility of a sequel ever occurring, there could be something more than wishful thinking to Alan Tudyk recently mentioning to Moviehole that red hot sales of the SERENITY Special Edition DVD have prompted interest in a sequel, even if possibly just direct-to-DVD. Says the former pilot of the Firefly Class ship Serenity: “They had to put [the new DVD] out because they’ve been selling out of the other one and so Universal’s like ‘So, let’s do another one’. And now… there’s now a chance there’s going to be another movie.” Well, lookie there, Browncoats, you may get your sequel, after all. Read the rest of what he had to say over HERE.
Hope for Browncoats
