It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the sequel to the burger-fueled stoner comedy HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE, formerly titled HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO AMSTERDAM but now simply titled HAROLD AND KUMAR 2. Fortunately, the folks over at “Jew Review” recently had a sit down pow wow with the writers of the film, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, and they spoke at length about the shenanigans that abound in the sequel. Here’s a little taste of what they had to say:
Harold and Kumar 2 takes place immediately after the first movie, so they just went to White Castle and now Maria’s going to Amsterdam and that’s the end of the first movie.
In the second one, they go to the airport and on their way, in the six or seven hours that it takes to get to Amsterdam, Kumar brings this device on the plane that allows him to get high in the bathroom while no one is watching and no one will smell the smoke. This device kind of looks like a bomb – or at least to some of the passengers on the plane who are uncomfortable about sitting next to an Indian guy to begin with.
They see him with this device and somebody yells, ‘Terrorist,’ and the next thing you know, there’s air marshals all over them. They just assume they’ll just get out of it because they did nothing wrong; without any trial or anything, they end up in Guantanamo Bay. And from there, they escape and the rest of the movie is them trying to clear their names and prove that they’re good Americans.
They describe the film as EUROTRIP meets THE FUGITIVE, which is pretty ambitious for a stoner comedy. Read the rest of what they had to say over HERE. The film currently doesn’t have a release date but as soon as it does, we’ll let you know.
