If you saw any of Salma Hayek’s recent stint on “30 Rock” you know our girl can do comedy and do it well. She hasn’t had much luck with on-screen comedies but will get another chance with a leading role in the upcoming Adam Sandler comedy LAKE HOUSE. JoBlo.com has exclusively learned that Hayek will star alongside Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider and Kevin James in the upcoming film.
The film (which may get a new title other than LAKE HOUSE as I’m hearing it’s currently listed as “UNTITLED”) stars the former SNL pals and James as old high school friends who reunite in their hometown (and has been described as a comedic BIG CHILL). Salma would star as Sandler’s wife in the film and mother to their daughters. I’m also hearing that other Sandler pals Norm McDonald and Steve Buscemi are joining the cast of the project though in smaller capacities.
Sandler is currently finishing up the script with co-writer Fred Wolf (THE HOUSE BUNNY) and Dennis Dugan (I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY) will direct. Filming on LAKE HOUSE/Untitled Sandler Film is expected to begin this May in New England. Hayek can be seen next in the upcoming supernatural fantasy flick CIRQUE DU FREAK.
