Culkin’s Pilgrimage

The barrage of graphic novel adaptations shows no signs of slowing down. And why should they. Some of the best films and some of the most anticipated films are all torn from the realm of the graphic novel. This one however, has me tugging at my collar. SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, based on the graphic novel about a Canadian slacker who must battle and defeat the seven evil ex-boyfriends of an American delivery girl named Ramona V. Flowers, in order to win her heart. Michael Cera will play the title character with Mary Elizabeth Winstead set to play Ramona. Kiren Culkin, has just been cast to play Pilgrim’s sensible gay roomate. I once had a sensible gay roomate but then he dumped me so that’s neither here nor there.

This film sounds like it could have quirky emo teen comedy written all over it, except for the fact that it’s being directed by HOTT FUZZ and SHAUN OF THE DEAD director Edgar Wright, which probably means that it will be awesome. Let the invasion of Graphic Novel-based scripts continue.
