I'd prefer if they just resurrected the character of Snake Plissken with Gerard (kinda how they did every decade or so with James Bond), and just add to the first two films (both of which I love, almost too much). Either way, if Gerard Butler is on board, I'll give it a shot. |

The original really wasn't that good at all, so it could probably stand for an update. We'll see. |

WHY?
If they want another Snake Plissken movie, why not get Carpenter and Russell in on it? It could an original Escape. How about "Escape from Hollywood" where Snake tries to outwit dumbarse film execs in order to make an original film. Or have Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg write a spoof of the originals. It could be "Escape from Mexico" and Snake is trying to cross the border to America, oh how HILARIOUS would that spoof be!
Butler will lose any respect he earned from "300" if he does this.
I have a better idea than a "Citizen Kane" remake...How about a prequel called "Citizen Kane: Vicious Kane" in which Charles Foster Kane is a young enforcer for the mob, and he kills lots of people with guns and bazookas, directed by Michael Bay, starring Ryan Reynolds as a witty young Kane.
I'm working on a script as we speak! |

I actually wouldn't mind a sequel to "Citizen Kane" as Dark Knight suggested, simply because it would be such a ridiculous thng to undertake, and a sure-fire failure at that. This, on the other hand...NO. I do agree Butler has a bit of a likeness to Kurt Russell, but that isn't grounds for a remake. Remaking cult classics is wrong, especially ones remembered as fondly as that one. The sequel sucked, so why should a remake be any better? |
