Brolin as George W! May. 8, 2008
Source: Entertainment Weekly by: Mike Sampson

Entertainment Weekly has your first look at Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Banks as George W. and Laura Bush in their latest issue, which hits newsstands tomorrow. In the fascinating article, Brolin talks about what convinced him to take the role ("We both have well-known fathers. We both grew up in the country. We both have strong mothers."), Stone talks about the President's legacy ("Bush may turn out to be the worst president in history.") and there are rumors that Paul Giamatti may sign on to play Dick Cheney after Robert Duvall turned down the part. When I was in Shreveport, LA for a set visit, Stone and his crew were staying in the same hotel and working hard on pre-production. Now filming is set to begin two weeks and Stone is putting the finishing touches on his vision. The script has come under some early criticism but it'll be interesting to see how Bush lovers and Bush haters (cause there really is no in-between) feel about the film when it's released. You can read an excerpt from the article and view more photos at Entertainment Weekly's website.

Extra Tidbit: Pretty good likeness so far if you ask me...

WTF!
Why are we making a movie about George W.

"BLAH BLAH BLAH How can we humanize a WAR-CRIMINAL?! To do such a thing is sinful in itself--Bush is a horrible horrible man and to give him his own biopic is unjustified!"

"BLAH BLAH BLAH How can we let this socialist hack of a filmmaker portray one of the most misunderstood presidents ever in this way?! Just another example of Hollywood liberals being idiots!"

PLEASE...
Why doesn't someone make a film about Oliver Stone and his man crushes on Castro and Hugo Chavez. Why would a man gush over those two guys? If he lived in either of those two countries and tried to make a film like this he would at least be arrested and possibly killed!

PETITION OLIVER STONE
"W" was such a shity president that he should get a movie even before he has left office. Leave it Oliver Stone to glorify criminals. Aside from that Josh Brolin does look good in the role.

Brolin looks great, he actually looks like Bush. Like, I can't tell it's Brolin unless I look at it very carefully for several minutes.

Elizabeth Banks looks like Elizabeth Banks. Don't get me wrong, she's great, but I think this role would be better suited for someone else.

THERE BETTER BE A SEX SCENE!
Between Brolin and Elizabeth Banks!

Fuck that'd be hot!
Imagine Dubyah's dialog, "Oh yeah, Barbara... I likes it like that. I'm about to shock and awe you with my - what you'd call - 'torpedo of love'! There's about to be a nucular assplosion in your virgina!"

Leave it to Oliver Stone...

I still think Brolin is way too good looking to play Dubya.

The Queen came out nearly ten years after the Diana incident. That's what that movie was about... only someone who didn't see it would even think the movie was a biopic on the Queen of England. In fact, the film was more about Tony Blair than the Queen.

You do make a good case with Primary Colors... however, that film wasn't Bill Clinton himself. Just a characture of him. This film, is apparently an acutal "truthful" biopic of George W. Quite a big difference there.

So while I admire your valiant ways of trying to back up your support for this movie... your arguments are still pretty limp.

Not knocking you personally, just your arguments.

However, I am down with people citing examples of a movie like this, an actual "biopic", with it's same timeleness. But I'm not sure there really are any out there.
