If he’s trying to tap the poker zeitgeist that’s already suffocated even casual card sharks, Pierce Brosnan is coming a bit late to the table. But he’s betting on THE BIG BIAZARRO, a 1978 Leonard Wise novel set in the poker world. Not Bizarro Poker World, where the cards are backwards and you win by losing.
In the movie, Brosnan will play a suave veteran gambler who trains a young hotshot on the path to the proverbial Big Game. The material will be adapted (and updated to the current century, we assume) by Vondie Curtis-Hall, who last directed Tyrese Gibson in the fairly decent urban actioner WAIST DEEP.
Brosnan will reportedly continue to be suave in another Thomas Crown adventure.
