Think you’ve got a killer voice, presence, personality and acting range? Hell with “AMERICAN IDOL” or “AMERICA’S GOT TALENT” — give the SPIDER-MAN Broadway musical a shot!
While we await SPIDER-MAN 4 swinging into theaters, the webbed wonder will hit the stage in his hometown of New York for a pop/rock Broadway production from stage-turned-feature (and back to stage) director Julie Taymor (TITUS, FRIDA). U2’s Bono and The Edge are providing the tunage, while Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton sit around wishing rhythm sections were more popular.
The production, for some reason titled SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, is scheduled to open next February, and is currently holding open casting calls for the principals and understudies. The full schedule, locations and other pertinent information can be found RIGHT HERE.
In Taymor’s “circus rock-n-roll drama”, Spidey will supposedly clash with Green Goblin, Carnage, Electro, Rhino, Swarm and Lizard. But the main villain is a new invention named Swiss Miss, whose costume consists of rotating knives and swirling corkscrews. Umm…
