Bay & Willis go at it

Update: One of the iChat pictures Willis used to prove his true Willis-ness is below. Click on it to see two more.

Bruce Willis vs. Michael Bay Things started out innocuously enough. Bruce Willis, the veteran action star who introduced “Yipee Kay Yay” into the pop culture lexicon, displayed surprising coolness by braving the ravenous cesspool that are the AICN talkbacks and started answering any and all questions fired at him, no matter how bile-ridden they may have been. As he was answering under the pseudonym “Walter B”, however, many were contesting his authenticity so he even went so far as to post an iChat still of himself to prove his legitimacy. At some point, someone asked if explosion artist Michael Bay had been considered to direct the detonating chaos in his upcoming return-to-McClane LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD and Willis’ response was: “[Michael Bay] would have ruined DH4. Few people will work with him now, and I know I will never work with him again.” Oooh, snap!

A stunned and dejected Michael Bay has recently responded on his official site: “Hard to believe it really is Bruce saying that stuff on AICN. I loved working with Bruce. He gave me a big hug one month ago at the GM party and we talked for 20 minutes. We even talked about working together again! I mean it would be sad if he felt this way – he’s never one to hide his feelings – I say sad, in that he wouldn’t be man enough to say it to my face. But truly sad that such a big time actor would have to hide on a little talk back section. So I really don’t believe this story. I find it also totally odd that my agents at William Morris got the call from Bruce’s people to inquire if I would like to helm Die Hard 4, but I was already on Transformers.

It seems Bay is a little too demoralized to put up a Donald Trump-level offensive but should Willis decide to specifically attack Bay’s undeniable cinematic ability to blow shit up with unparalleled artistic flare, we expect Bay will unleash a venomous fury unlike the world of celebrity media smackdowns has ever seen.
