Shedding some more insight on the "Halloween 8" rumors, Moriarty reports on an update from Andrew
Raush. Raush is working on a book that involves interviews with famous horror movie figures. In an interview with Kevin Williamson, it was stated that Jamie Lee Curtis insisted that her character cut off the head of Michael Meyers. If they didn't allow this she would not return for "H20". Moustapha Akkad obviously had a problem with this...Williamson said "I came up with a way he could
survive". I pitched that to him, he liked it, and they actually filmed it for the opening of part 8. And Jamie Lee Curtis agreed to let herself be filmed and appear in the first minutes of Halloween 8." So, does this mean she is truly filming right now?
Halloween Movies says she is, but they haven't come up with the pictures to prove it. They do have a picture of Jamie Lee's empty chair
(whassup with that?). Check out the on-location pics here.

couple of interviews at aint-it-cool news. Quint interviews Emily Perkins

Lawrence Kasdan ("Silverado" & "French Kiss") is set to direct the feature film version of
"Dreamweaver". The book tells the story of four friends that gather once a year to hunt in Northern Maine. This year however, an alien presence has crash landed and it changes the lives of the four men forever. The book got pretty decent reviews, hopefully Kasdan can make the transition to the big screen successfully.

| Ellis
scoffs at American Psycho 2... |
May 17,
2001 |
|
Source: Canoe
Bret Easton Ellis, author of the novel for which "American
Psycho" the movie was based upon, publicly criticized the sequel to
the film which started shooting on Monday. Most notably he comments on how
unrealistic it is to have a female serial killer since such a thing hardly
exists in real life. Also, he fails to see (as do I) how the sequel can
even relate to the original since Patrick Batemen never actually killed
anybody! Ellis states: "In the first movie version and in my novel,
all that actually ever happened to you if you ran into American Psycho is
that he might have horrible thoughts and then make a gruesome drawing of
you." In case you've been living under a rock, Mila Kunis ("That
70's Show") is starring in the sequel as a college student who
survives an attack by Patrick Bateman. She then begins her own murderous
rampage.

Horror Report
A scooper at Aint-it-cool News reported yesterday that Jamie Lee's work on Halloween 8 was finished long long ago. This would contradict news from the Halloween Movies site who claim she started filming yesterday. The Woodsman
reported that "although a press release went out this week announcing the "recent" signing of Curtis to the project, her small contribution to the film has long been in the can." WELL, the Horror Report contacted Halloweenmovies.com with questions about the rumors. Their simple response: "Jamie Lee Curtis just began filming today, actually. It was her first day. Hope that clears it up!
HM.C." They now report that Curtis started her scenes today...

| Inside "Blade 2" |

|
Source: Dark Horizons
Great stuff from Dark Horizons on the upcoming Blade sequel! A scooper
having a beer in Prague happened upon some set crew who had a few things to say about the movie. Perhaps the most interesting bit is how Whistler will
return: "POSSIBLE SPOILER" Reportedly, the vampires take him after he supposedly "shoots himself" in the last film. They then jack him up with some vampire cocktail, and keep him alive to find out information about Blade. The movie's plot has the vampires working with Blade to combat a bigger evil, which are called "Reapers". Reapers are a product of a genetic mixing attempt to create the perfect vampire. Blade's DNA is spliced with ordinary vampire DNA in an attempt to create day walking vamps that can better survive. The experiments fouls up (of course), and these Reapers go nuts, and start attacking the ordinary vampires, and everyone they bite becomes a vampire. The Reapers are created with some apparent cool effects, with their faces being a series of seams that open up and have the teeth inside. Sources likened it to how the creatures in Alien worked with the mini mouth inside the big one.

Just to refresh your memory, the story follows detective Fred Abberline (Johnny Depp) as he tracks Jack the Ripper. The movie is based on the series of [graphic] novels by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell. The film stars Johnny Depp, Heather Graham and Robbie Coltrane. The name had reportedly been changed in the US to "Jack" but judging from the poster that may have been a rumor gone bad.

That Halloween site is just
a-buzz with info this week. Today they report that shooting is now
scheduled to begin on Monday. Dimension Films has reportedly given up on
the idea of having Danielle Harris star in an all-new role in Halloween 8.
The site reports that the producers are still keeping an eye on their fan
poll so there may still be a chance to see Danielle in some form.
Dimension has also decided to name the film "Halloween: The
Homecoming". This is a working title and could still change. The
production company is still using the working title "Halloween
8".

It's called "Beyond The

Production Assistants on the project. The PA reports that the script is
really great. "Quite a departure from the original short story (or
more of an expansion) but it works well. Very Re-Animator feel to it.
Crazy, over the top kind of horror that has been missing for quite some
time. Lots of effects, lots of blood". Check out the behind the

4:1 |

Source: Upcoming
Movies
The title of the next Exorcist
flick has been changed to "Exorcist 4:1". I'm not too sure what
the 4:1 would mean for certain but I must agree with Greg's assessment at
Upcoming Movies in that it must be a biblical reference. The 4 could also
possibly be a reference to it being the 4th in the series, or a ratio of
some kind...4 priests and a Satan...probably not. Caleb Carr is directing
(in case you hadn't heard).
