Strike Back below!

Got a heads up today about a project that reunites a few classic American horror icons- Tom Sullivan and Ellen Sandweiss, who shared the screen in both Sam Raimi's EVIL DEAD and EVIL DEAD II, are teaming up once again to star in THE DREAD for Safe Harbor Productions.

Written and directed by Michael Spence (THE BOOGENS), THE DREAD goes a little somethin'-somethin' like this:

Ellen stars as Diane Benson, the bitchy administrator of Briarcliff, a creepy and crumbling mental institution. Unable to escape her unfortunate relationship with forest products (you may recall her unwelcome date rape by aggressive saplings in "Evil Dead"), Ellen's character in "The Dread" has a distinct affinity for razor-sharp pencils.

Yes, that's actually the official synopsis. And no, I still have no clue what THE DREAD is all about. I get that it's set in a mental institution, and there's this crazy ho with issues there... and that's about it. Well, as the folks making it have a background in the genre, let's hope there's a little more meat on the bone for us to chew on.

Feel free to check out the flick's OFFICIAL SITE for more info. (including a better plot outline), and watch for THE DREAD to be released sometime next month.
