Action moves East as Expendables 2 eyes China shoot

A few days ago I told you that Donnie Yen had been offered a part in THE EXPENDABLES 2, upping its already high levels of potential awesome. Now it looks like producers are trying to tie that deal up, and make it easier to get the film a Chinese release (China has a strict quota on the number of overseas films released each year).

Variety reports that Nu Image and Millennium Films are in talks with a Chinese distributor, who may come aboard as producers – as long as a ‘local actor’ is in the cast. This would also mean that the film, to be directed by CON AIR’s Simon West from a script by returning lead badass Sylvester Stallone, would shoot for some time in China.

This would likely mean a globetrotting shoot for at least some of the huge cast – which also includes Jason Statham, John Travolta, Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, and Bruce Willis – shooting is slated to begin next month in Bulgaria.
