A Clockwork Halloween?

Thanks
to ‘Faith‘ and ‘gvcool2‘ for the head’s up on this bit
of casting news as writer/director Rob Zombie — the man who seemed
to have started a very unique trajectory in his horror
movie-making career, only to fall victim to the “remake
bug” that everyone and their great-aunt seems to be getting
these days — announced via his MySpace
Blog
that he has cast the first person in his remake of John
Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN (or “re-imagining”…whatever), and
is it the great Malcolm McDowell in the part made famous by the late
Donald Pleasance of Dr. Loomis. Here’s what Zombie had to say,
specifically: “Well, the wait is over. Dr. Loomis is none other than the great MALCOLM McDOWELL! I am thrilled to have Malcolm on board. He is ready to kick ass and make a new horror classic.”
So who will play the lead role that Jamie Lee Curtis made famous? My
pick: Salma Hayek…but maybe that’s just me!!
